Prompt A Summary:
Lady Capulet is upset that Juliet hasn't gotten married yet. The mother got married as a young one too. She is hoping Juliet turns out like herself and makes the same decisions she has. Juliet does not want to get married though. Juliet believes that she is not ready for marriage. The nurse agrees with Lady Capulet. They want Juliet to grow up and find a good man. Juliet finally agrees and says she will keep an eye open for a good man.

Juliet is doing what her mother wants and is becoming a grown up girl, looking for love.

ReplyDeleteI really like your overall interpretation of act 1 scene 3. Do you think, however, that you can combine a few sentences in your summary to make it flow better? In your sentence you said that Juliet is looking for love. Is she really? You really thought out some good questions though, especially the one asking why Juliet doesn't want to get married. Good job!
