Prompt A: Summary

Lady Capulet calls out for Juliet to have a word with her. Nurse is about to leave but Lady Capulet tells her to stay with them. The nurse talks about how old Juliet has gotten since the other time and that she is twelve right and that soon she will become fourteen in July 31st. Lady Capulet tells Juliet if she has thought about marriage but Juliet says it would be an honor that i can't possibly take. Lady Capulet tells Juliet to think about it because they have set and arrangement with Paris tonight at dinner. She will become a woman if she goes with Paris Lady Capulet said to Juliet when she finished saying this it was time for dinner.

The reason I chose a mango as me symbolic picture for this scene is because this is how Lady Capulet sees Juliet. She sees Juliet as a mature girl ready to start a family because she has the age to do it. But Juliet doesn't see the same as her mother Lady Capulet she sees her self as an unripe fruit.

Prompt F: Relationships

The relationship between Juliet and the Nurse is like a mother and daughter relationship. The reason for this is because the Nurse took care of Juliet when she was growing up. In the story the Nurse states to Romeo that she was the one taking care of Juliet in her early years. From what i can tell Juliet doesn't really have a strong mother to daughter connection with Lady Capulet. The reason for this is because it was the Nurse that took care of her. Lady Capulet in the other hand wants the beast for Juliet because she wants her to marry Paris so that she will grow up into woman with class.

  1. I agree with the observation that the nurse is like a mother to Juliet. It is interesting that Juliet seems to be more connected to her nurse than her biological mother, so this may be an indication of some evil in the mother's personality.

  2. I like the comparison and the image you chose, how does Juliet see herself as an unripe fruit?
