1.3 A Mother's Speech Of Love & Marriage

Prompt A (Summary)
In this scene of Romeo & Juliet, Lady Capulet, the Nurse, and Juliet are talking about how Juliet is turning fourteen years old and how she should marry soon. The nurse, then, starts telling both Lady Capulet and her daughter some stories about her past. Also revealing that the nurse lost her "maidenhead" at the age 12. But then, Lady Capulet has asked her daughter, Juliet, if she is willing to get married. Juliet says that she doesn't want to get married.

Prompt E (Symbol)
The picture above is a picture of wedding bells; this symbolizes as the act 1 and scene 3 because the women mentioned a lot about love and marriage. As Lady Capulet and the Nurse been talking about losing their "maidenhead," they mention to Juliet when she would like get married. Juliet says she does not want to be married yet until she is ready for it.

    I like the wedding bell as a symbol because love and marriage were very prominent in Act 1 Scene 3. Great description about the Wedding Bell and how it relates to the act.

  2. Magaly, I really like the symbol you chose the bells were a great idea. I think it does symbolize marriage in a great way. The bells do remind me of marriage
